Many Celtic fans will love that Stan Collymore had claimed Brendan Rodgers is more than likely going to get sacked by Leicester City within the next two to three years.

The outspoken pundit seemed unimpressed, just like several Hoops fans, at the way that Rodgers had left the club before the season was over to become the Foxes next manager.

Collymore added that chances are Rodgers could easily find himself sacked by Leicester and that he feared Rodgers will end up regretting the way he exited Celtic.

“I just won’t know what Rodgers is going to learn about his Leicester squad that he couldn’t have learned from afar,” wrote Collymore in his column for The People’s print edition (page 58, Sunday March 3rd).

“In the next two or three years, he’ll more than likely get sacked by Leicester – that’s just a football fact.

“And my fear is he will wish he’d dealt with this situation differently.”

It’s fair to say that Rodgers left Celtic in the lurch to jump at the chance to take over at the King Power Stadium, and that it was disrespectful in many ways as the Foxes have nothing to really play for in the second half of the season.

Leicester City don’t have relegation to worry about and they’re not exactly going to be able to bridge the gap in order to qualify for Europe.

Many Celtic fans for this reason, especially when you consider their side are on course for the treble-treble, will no doubt not be wishing Rodgers all the best due to him not waiting until the summer to exit.

Given that Collymore is spot-on to claim that it’s more than likely Rodgers will be facing the sack at Leicester City within a couple of seasons as that’s just how ruthless football can be if he doesn’t deliver the goods, they will be thrilled.

The Hoops are far from being a trigger-happy club when it comes to managers and they would have stuck by Rodgers even if he continued to struggle to move the club forward in European competitions.

It’s very likely that the ex-Celtic boss will regret how his poorly timed exit has left a bitter taste and ill-feeling among supporters as it could have easily been avoided, and fans will love the fact that this could see him have to kick himself over past actions.
