West Ham playmaker Felipe Anderson has been struggling for weeks and he couldn’t even shine when facing Premier League strugglers Huddersfield Town on Saturday.

The 25-year-old wowed everyone in the first-half of the season as he looked to be a creative force who was also capable of scoring goals, and just seemed to be a potential match winner for Manuel Pellegrini’s side.

Yet in recent weeks despite working hard during games Anderson has been below par and against the Terriers he looked a shadow of the player that he had previously proven himself to be.

Even though he was playing against Huddersfield, a team who look doomed to relegation, he just couldn’t get his act together in order to make a positive impact.

Anderson went missing for large parts of the game and when he did get on the ball; he seemed careless when it came to his passes and his touch.

The 25-year-old just seemed to lack the belief he had when previously in-form as he also avoided running at the players despite previously dazzling many with his dribbling ability.

It’s unclear what has caused Anderson’s dip in form but it’s clear the bubble has burst and he is in need of some help in order to turn his form around.

Pellegrini should look to axe the 25-year-old from his next couple of line-ups as perhaps the demands of the Premier League have taken their toll and he needs a break; or he needs to be reminded he isn’t a guaranteed start to spur him back into life.

While axing Anderson may not lead to him being able to turn his form around upon returning to the team; it’s better than doing nothing.

This is because as it stands the 25-year-old is continuing to struggle and there’s no signs he can restore his form by just plodding on.
