OPINION
It seems that many Newcastle United fans know Josef Martinez quite well, but supporters across the UK can be forgiven for not knowing too much about the Atlanta United forward considering the MLS’s low reputation on these shores. However one look at Martinez’s stats and you will see that the Venezuela international is one of the most in-form strikers in world football at the moment. In 2018, he fired Atlanta to the MLS title by scoring 35 goals in 39 appearances across all competitions. He did that alongside Miguel Almiron, who has blown Newcastle fans away with his first couple of appearances for the club since joining in January. Almiron and Martinez shared a great partnership in Georgia, and reuniting them in the land of the Geordie would be a superb idea for the summer. It may cost a lot of money, but it would be a superb signing if Mike Ashley actually pulled it off. It helps that so many fans are behind the idea as well.

Get the Venezuelan?? duo up top (Rondon & Martinez) with Almirón playing in behind them. Sounds deadly.

Would definitely like to see him brought in, incredibly quick and powerful and the added advantage of already playing with Miggy, some people moan about his lack of height, but this guy definitely knows how to head a ball
