Liam Gallagher has strangely shown his support for Leeds United ahead of their clash against West Brom on Friday night.

The former Oasis star is better-known for his support of Manchester City, but it seems as though he is a temporary Leeds fan this week.

Gallagher was responding to someone on Twitter who wanted to know if he though Leeds would win against the Baggies, to which the Beady Eye singer responded: “Cmon Leeds.”

OPINION

It is strange that someone so associated with Manchester would want Leeds to win on Friday night – maybe he has something against West Brom? Surely he should be supporting the Baggies anyway. Jay Rodriguez’s goal against Manchester United last season won Gallagher’s team the Premier League title, while Albion also knocked City’s FA Cup nemesis Wigan out of the competition this term. Either way, no matter who Gallagher is supporting, it is a massive game in the Championship at Elland Road. West Brom can move within a point of third-placed Leeds if they win in West Yorkshire, while Marcelo Bielsa’s men can go top of the league if they win. Neither team will want to drop points in this encounter and if there is a loser, fans of that team will more than likely be kissing goodbye to automatic promotion. West Brom beat Leeds 4-1 earlier in the season at The Hawthorns and have the best away record in the league. However none of that is bound to count once we reach kick-off.
