This international break has not come at a good time for Leeds United at all. They lost 1-0 to Sheffield United and dropped down to third in the Championship standings on Saturday and have two weeks to wait before they are able to bounce back from that. What is also worrying is that Marcelo Bielsa’s squad has been plagued by injuries this term and players who are out on international duty – like Ezgjan Alioski – run the risk of being sidelined if they are not careful. Alioski has been superb for Leeds since the start of 2019, making the left-back position his own since replacing Barry Douglas in that role. So it is no shock to see many Leeds fans all praying that the 27-year-old avoids injury while playing for Macedonia in the coming days. Alioski’s nation play Latvia on Thursday and Slovenia on Sunday and hopefully he avoids injuries in those games. The ex-Lugano ace has started every single Championship game this season for the Whites – only Mateusz Klich has also managed that feat – so it is super-important that he stays fit this week.
