Everton have joined the race to sign Bournemouth centre-forward Callum Wilson, according to the Sun.

The newspaper claims that West Ham and Leicester are also interested in signing the 27-year-old, who is valued at £40million.

It is understood that the Toffees want to sign the England international to add competition for Dominic Calvert-Lewin.

Wilson has scored 12 goals in 26 appearances across all competitions for Bournemouth this season and earned his second cap for England in the 5-1 win against Montenegro earlier this week.

Good move for Everton?

Either side of Romelu Lukaku’s spell at Goodison Park, Everton have struggled to have a centre-forward up front who guarantees goals.

Cenk Tosun was signed for a lot of money last year but has been a complete flop and even though it’s not their natural role, Calvert-Lewin and Richarlison have been the Blues’ best strikers this season.

Wilson will definitely be a good signing for Everton.

He has regularly hit the back of the net for Bournemouth in the last couple of seasons and although the ex-Coventry forward is slightly injury-prone, he would be worth the £40million fee.

Likely to happen?

Everton have to sign a new centre-forward in the summer and it wouldn’t be a shock to see them sign Wilson.

However West Ham and Leicester could both be in the same position as the Toffees in the next transfer window, and that might be an issue for Marco Silva.
