Marcelo Bielsa delivered a significant fitness update to Leeds fans on Thursday, with the news that top scorer Kemar Roofe will be back for the Birmingham game.

Bielsa was talking at the pre-match press conference ahead of the game against Millwall on Saturday. Roofe will miss that but will be back for the trip to Birmingham on April 6.

There was more good news for Leeds too, with Pontus Jansson and Adam Forshaw both fit for Millwall.

Bielsa was quoted by BBC journalist Adam Pope on his personal Twitter page on Thursday lunchtime.

OPINION

Leeds fans haven’t been used to getting good fitness news this season, but this will be a major boost for the next two games. Jansson was initially ruled out for three weeks after the Sheffield United game and it looks like he’s going to be back in action a week early. Likewise Kemar Roofe. He was ruled out for eight weeks after the Swansea game back on February 13 and could be back in seven if he starts against Birmingham. With Forshaw back as well, the Birmingham game could be the first time that Bielsa has had a full squad to pick from all season, which is incredible with just eight games left in the Championship. Leeds have suffered more than any other team in the league this season but it looks like it could all be coming good for Bielsa when he needs his players the most. We think both Jansson and Roofe will come straight back into the side, with Forshaw probably being used off the bench on Saturday.
