OPINION
Nottingham Forest striker Daryl Murphy produced a somewhat lacklustre effort as his team overcame Hull City 3-0 on Saturday. The former Republic of Ireland international seemingly couldn’t get into the game and it was no surprise to see him substituted in the second half. Forest looked completely different after he came off as they bagged three goals in the last 20 minutes to secure a much-needed victory over Nigel Adkins’ side. Murphy is clearly in the twilight of his career and so he can’t be expected to produce excellent performances week in week out. He looked pretty tired before he came off, which is understandable considering how hard he worked, but he didn’t actually offer all that much. Joao Carvalho and Karim Ansarifard were much better after coming on and they turned the game around. Murphy, on the other hand, offered precious little. It will be interesting to see if he keeps his place moving forward.

Subs made a massive impact today. Murphy was terrible… but the game plan worked made the subs when the defence was tired. Carvalho is the man ??? #nffc

Please can we give Murphy his pension. No doubt he was a top striker once, but he's the opposition's dream now. #nffc
