OPINION
It takes guts to admit you were wrong about something and apologise. It’s much easier to ignore something you said and start cheering on the opposite view. We’ve seen it with many politicians over the Brexit fiasco and now former Leeds player Ian Harte has joined the ranks. He posted a tweet after the Leeds Under-23s side sealed the PDL North title by beating Colchester on Monday night, congratulating the team and paying “special mention” to Andrea Radrizzani, manager Carlos Corberan, Victor Orta and Adam Underwood. He signed off by saying “The future is looking good”.
Massive congratulations to @LUFC under 23s and special mention to @andrearadri @CarlosCorberan Victor Orta and Adam Underwood. The future is looking good! Champions ?

It was a far cry from another tweet he sent just over a year ago after going to watch the Under-23s play. In a very regrettable message, Harte said he was “fuming” and claimed Leeds was “losing its identity”.
“All I could hear was Spanish being spoken by players and manager!!”
We’re surprised that Harte didn’t see fit to delete the tweet, but it’s still there, and he completed his 180 degree turn this week without a mention of how he’d got it so wrong before.
Fuming tonight, went to watch @LUFC Under 23s v Birmingham. Leeds is losing its identity, as all I could hear was Spanish been spoken by players and manager!!! We are a club that has over years and years brought through quality players. But what I witnessed is players lacking

It’s not something that slipped unnoticed past the Leeds fans, though, and they lined up to take a shot on Twitter. Here are the best reactions from Leeds fans:

Not sure I read the bit where he accepted he was wrong?
— Michael Morgan???? (@HeikoMo) March 26, 2019
Agree with your 2nd point. Not so much the first bit. Not so hard to say "I may have been wrong about.." then carry the opinion on.

Changed your tune @ianharte23

Less worried about the Spanish and overseas influence now!

But what about the club losing its identity and all the Spanish speaking players? Are you not fuming anymore??
