Said Benrahma could be the signing of the summer for West Ham if they are able to sign the Brentford attacker before next season starts.

The 23-year-old Algeria international has been in the form of his life at Griffin Park this term, scoring 10 goals and supplying 14 assists in 39 appearances across all competitions.

So it is no surprise to see that a recent report by TeamTalk claims that the Hammers are keeping close tabs on the dazzling Brenford ace.

Benrahma’s form for the Championship club has been so good that Arsenal, Tottenham and Crystal Palace are also keeping an eye on him, as well as clubs from overseas like Borussia Dortmund and AC Milan.

Understandably, the Bees are said to have slapped a £30million price-tag on the head of the former Nice winger in an attempt to either ward off interested parties or maximise their potential profits.

Either way, West Ham would be onto a winner if they managed to sign him in the summer transfer window.

Manuel Pellegrini has improved the squad at the London Stadium by leaps and bounds, but there are still doubts about the players in the wide positions.

Robert Snodgrass and Michail Antonio have both done well for the Irons this season, but only in spells, and on the whole, their time in east London has been a bit sub-par.

Benrahma on the other hand has been firing on all cylinders all season for Brentford, and has really moved up through the gears in recent weeks.

In his last 12 Championship outings, the Algeria international has scored eight goals and made six assists.

Big-money clubs in the second-tier like Stoke and Middlesbrough have been victims of Benhrama in that run, while he also stuck a hat-trick past a Hull side that has been in great form since the festive period.

If Pellegrini is going to spend £30million on a new winger this summer, it should be Benrahma, and realistically, Brentford may settle for a fee much lower than that if negotiations end up dragging on.

David Gold and David Sullivan need to think about getting their chequebooks out for this talented wide-man.
