Spanish side Real Betis have launched multiple transfer missions to watch Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos this season, according to Rincon Escoces.

The Spanish Scottish football news website claim on their Twitter account that the La Liga outfit, who are in the Europa League knock out stages as well the Copa Del Rey semi finals, have sent scouts to at least three games of the Light Blues to keep tabs on the Colombian ace ahead of a potential transfer swoop.

Morelos has been in inspired form this season with 23 goals in 38 appearances, 15 of those strikes coming in the Premisership, but is currently on the sidelines through suspension once again, his fourth red of the season.

Opinion

There should be no surprise that there are rival sides keeping close tabs on the South American talisman with another campaign full of goals and a sprinkling of controversy. Spain could be a tempting option for the Colombian, with the ability to use a move to La Liga as a stepping stone to pick up more exposure in hopes of sealing a bigger move in the future. With Betis sitting seventh in the Spanish top flight, they could be the perfect balance of ambition and regular playing time to put himself on the map and make other big names stand up and take notice of him. While Rangers are a massive side in Scotland, the big names of European football will want to see him prove himself in a top division and/or on the European stage. Two goals in five Europa League outings this season is nothing special and so doing it in a bigger domestic league might be his best way to earn that big money move he will be looking for.
