OPINION
West Brom have got exactly what they needed in Stefan Johansen – a midfielder that no one wants to play against. The Norway international was impressive in his Albion debut against Stoke on Saturday evening, so it is no surprise to see some fans on Twitter blown away by the Fulham loanee for his performance. Johansen set the tone early on by getting into a tangle with Ryan Woods – no one is going to have an easy day in that Stoke midfield. West Brom’s goal then came about from Johansen’s inch-perfect free-kick that found Ahmed Hegazi, who then set up Dwight Gayle to score in the six yard box. It wasn’t long after that he was booked, which just shows how assertive he was in that midfield trio alongside Gareth Barry and Jake Livermore. It was not a perfect outing by the Norwegian, but once he adapts to the system, gets used to his new team-mates and shakes off the rust, then he should be a real asset for the side.
