Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has admitted that Wolves will be a tough task for his Manchester United side after being drawn to play the West Midlands club in the FA Cup quarter finals.

Man United booked their spot in the draw by beating Chelsea 2-0 at Stamford Bridge on Monday night, and now they face an away trip to Molineix to play against Nuno Espirito Santo’s high-flyers.

Wolves beat Bristol City on Sunday to progress to the quarter finals themselves, and Solkskjaer is under no illusions as to how tough the match will be for his men.

“An away tie again. You’ve had the Arsenals, the Chelseas, you hope for a home game but that’s it, Wolves away,” he said on BBC One’s live post-match coverage of United’s win against Chelsea on Monday night, straight after the quarter final draw was made.

“We have to do it the hard way, they’re a very tough team to play against.”

OPINION

Wolves will be happy to have won a home draw, but when Millwall and Brighton were still up for grabs, it was a spot of bad luck when ex-West Brom man Darren Fletcher pulled Man United out to play at Molineux. If Wolves want to win the FA Cup then they have to beat the best teams anyway, they cannot just stroll to the final and win it. It would have been a lot better to have played one of the other sides, that goes without saying, but sooner or later they would have had to play someone like Man United or Man City, so getting this draw now could save a lot of heartache in the future. United will be an extremely tough game for Nuno’s side, especially given their recent form. PSG  are the only team to beat Solskjaer’s men since Jose Mourinho left Old Trafford, which says a lot about how they are playing.
