John Hartson delivered his instant Twitter verdict on Neil Lennon, who was taking charge of Celtic for the first time tonight after Brendan Rodgers left to take the job at Leicester.

James Forrest gave his side the lead on Wednesday night and when Jamie Brandon was sent off for Hearts, Lennon would have been forgiven for thinking he was in for an easy night.

That didn’t happen. Hearts equalised from the penalty spot in the 56th minute and Celtic left it really, really late to get the three points that are so important with Rangers winning.

Odsonne Edouard came on in the 62nd minute and the striker got the goal for Lennon in the 92nd minute.

Hartson said simply “Lucky Lennon” and added eight Celtic emojis.

OPINION

Neil Lennon might have a big lead in the Premiership but he’s not got an easy job. Quite simply, he’s expected to win the title from here and he’s almost in a no-win situation. If he lets the title slip it will be all his fault, despite the fact that things can’t be completely rosy at Celtic at the moment. To make things worse,Celtic aren’t in the best form, while Rangers have suddenly found their scoring boots. However, he got the three points tonight but even he would have to admit that he got lucky. The goal, deep in stoppage time, saw him off sprinting down the touchline. You certainly can’t accuse Lennon of lacking passion. Now the Celtic fans will want to see that he’s got the chops to lead them yet another title, and keep the challenge from Rangers at bay. That could be a tougher job that a lot of people expect.
