Celtic will be without seven players for their clash against Hearts on Wednesday night due to various reasons, according to Sky Sports.

The broadcaster claim that midfielder Ryan Christie picked up a hamstring injury during the win over Motherwell so will be unavailable, with Olivier Ntcham, Anthony Ralston, Filip Benkovic, Tom Rogic, Eboue Kouassi, Daniel Arzani and Leigh Griffiths also not set to make the trip to face Hearts.

Sky Sports report that although Celtic are to be without those players, captain Scott Brown is available to feature after serving his suspension.

OPINION

It looks like being a tricky task for Celtic to achieve all three points from their midweek clash with Hearts, and supporters won’t expect them to slip up. There may be seven players unavailable to chose from, but the Hoops should have more than enough quality to get a win if they perform to the best of their ability. Wednesday’s clash with Hearts is surely set to garner a lot of attention as just like Sky Sports‘ report states it seems the club are about to start their life after Brendan Rodgers as he seems he is set to leave to take over at Leicester City. Hoops supporters will be concerned what effect Rodgers leaving the club will have on the team and its momentum, so starting off with a win against Hearts would soothe those worries. However given how Rodgers’ future seems to have been thrown up all in the air in a relatively short space of time, it wouldn’t be a surprise if the squad do shows signs of his exit affecting them.
