Celtic sent scouts to St Andrew’s on Tuesday of this week to watch Birmingham City striker Che Adams in action, according to the Mirror.

The newspaper reports on their website that the Hoops had representatives watching the game – which ended in a 1-0 defeat to Bolton – to keep tabs on the prolific forward, with the likes of Manchester United, Arsenal and Watford also watching him.

The report adds that Southampton were keen on the 19-goal attacker, and that Burnley had a few offers for Adams rebuffed last month rising to £9million.

Good move for Celtic?

Yes, this would absolutely be a good move for Celtic. They are in need of a proper forward after converting Oliver Burke into one, and by the looks of his record, Adams seems like he could fix their major issue. The Hoops need a prolific talisman like him, as their lack of one has been especially evident this season, as the likes of Odsonne Edouard have hardly stepped up to the plate. One thing is for sure, plenty of fans would be drooling if he joined forces.

Likely to happen?

Che Adams is hot property, so the likelihood of Celtic winning the race to his signature are pretty slim at the moment. With the likes of Premier League giants Arsenal and Manchester United interested in signing him, the chances of a swoop are very low, as Adams would be very attracted to the prospect of playing in the top flight. However, Celtic are the club that would be able to offer him regular game time, so that may swing in their favour.
