COMMENTARY
Another game in the Scottish Premiership, another moment of total controversy, and you can understand why the Celtic faithful are absolutely livid with what happened in their clash with Motherwell on Sunday. Leading 2-0, the Hoops kicked the ball out to allow Ryan Christie to receive treatment on an injury but instead of doing the expected thing of returning the ball from the throw in, the visitors to Parkhead launched a quick attack against the few defenders who remained at the back, Gboly Ariyibi putting the ball into the back of the net after Scott Bain was forced to make a save. To be quite frank it was behaviour lacking in sportsmanship but not against the rules and the Hoops, and anyone else, should always do as so many coaches training youngsters across the country say week in, week out: play to the whistle. They can complain all they like but Motherwell took advantage of the situation. Whether that is morally correct is up for debate, but there is now law defining what should happen. It does not make it any easier for the Hoops to swallow and there will no doubt be some bad blood between the two sides in future games.
51' – Goal for Motherwell: The ball is kicked out after Christie pulls up with an injury. Motherwell throw it back into #CelticFC's half but Scott runs on to it, forces Bain to save and Ariyibi knocks in the rebound. Boyata is booked in the ensuing controversy.

Shocking it’s an unwritten rule to give it back to the team

I expect Motherwell to be full of apologies after the match, won't wash. They knew what they were doing, not a shred of decency in the team or manager Stephen Robinson.
