The way Wolves boss Nuno Espirito Santo has set up his side this season will no doubt be admired by football fans everywhere.

They only got promoted last season, but they are now competing within the top ten of the Premier League and getting results against the likes of Chelsea and Manchester City.

However, that does not stem away from the fact that a few of the players are not performing at the standard they should be, and one of those players is winger Helder Costa.

The 25-year-old has not reached dizzying heights since he arrived last season and he has only managed to muster up two goals in the 25 appearances he has made in all competitions this term – a woeful statistic from someone who plays on the flank.

The quality Costa has is there somewhere, but right now, it is not being unleashed, and it remains to be seen why Nuno continues to perservere with him if he cannot contribute effectively.

Nuno needs to make a U-turn on his stance towards Costa by not allowing him to make an appearance in any shape or form, with his last outing coming as a substitute in the win over Everton last weekend.

He has shown he is not good enough and that he is not showing any signs of improvement, so why should Nuno continue to be patient with him?

Costa had a fantastic debut for Portugal back in October, but ever since then, he has been on a rapid decline of form.

The flyer should be doing a lot more based on the quality that the fans know he possesses, and even when he was given the opportunity to show what he could do against Shrewsbury in the FA Cup, he remained anonymous and looked devoid of any confidence.

It is a shame to see him decline in the way that he has, but Nuno must change his baffling stance on him and do what is right for the team by making a sharp U-turn and axing him for good.
