Many Wolves fans are surely dreaming big after Stan Collymore shared that lifting the FA Cup could provide a boost to the club’s Champions League ambitions.

The outspoken pundit revealed in his column for The Sunday People (February 18th, page 55) that he thought Wolves had a very real chance of lifting the FA Cup this season.

Intriguingly, Collymore added that adding the FA Cup to the Molineux mantelpiece this season would allow them to attract the sort of players that will help gatecrash the Champions League places.

The pundit is spot-on to suggest that the FA Cup could have a positive knock-on effect on Wolves’ clear ambitions to be in the Champions League and Wolves fans are surely dreaming big as a result.

This is especially the case as since Collymore wrote that Wolves have edged even closer to honing in on lifting the FA Cup as they beat Bristol City 1-0 on Sunday, so their chances of winning the entire tournament are even greater than before.

Some Wolves fans will already see Champions League ready players in Nuno Santo’s squad, as there are a few eye-catching stars regularly on show at the Molineux this season, and know that imaging competing in that prestigious competition is a realistic goal for the club to have.

However they’re also aware that it’s very hard to lure top-quality players to Wolves ahead of the likes of Manchester City or Liverpool, and will know that they need something to entice the right footballers other than big wages.

Given that Collymore’s remarks about the FA Cup being the ideal bait to get the right players is dead-on, then surely loads of Wolves supporters are dreaming big that their club is on the right course towards one day soon qualifying for the Champions League.
