OPINION
Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Oliver Skipp struggled to make an impression during his team’s 3-1 win over Leicester City on Sunday. The youngster was handed a surprise start by manager Mauricio Pochettino, but couldn’t make the most of his opportunity. Many Spurs supporters were left wondering what exactly he added to the game. He wasn’t able to cope with the Foxes physically and failed to really influence proceedings with his passing. Harry Winks alongside him looked sensational, while Youri Tielemans was excellent for Claude Puel’s team. Skipp, on the other hand, did look slightly out of his depth. As one fan said, perhaps a loan spell at a Championship side would be beneficial for him. He would get regular football and be able to work the kinks out of his game. Tottenham are such a good team that if you’re not quite up to the level of your team mates you’ll stand out like a sore thumb. That was certainly the case for the 18-year-old on Sunday.

Lucky to go in at half time, haven’t played great but we are ahead so hopefully we can kick on 2nd half. Skipp once again out of his depth, he should be nowhere near our squad let alone team #THFC #COYS

I have seen a number of youngsters down the years and they have looked promising and hit the ground running.
If people are saying this skipp is the next star I am less than impressed he should not be on this pitch today terrible the game has passed him by— Jamie (@Thfc1903) February 10, 2019
Skipp has been bad. Son has been worse. Llorente has been Llorente. Trippier is on vacation. Spurs are winning at HT. Alrighty then.

Average half of football. Lucky to be 1-0 up. Skipp seems to be a passenger in this game at the moment. Ref has given us nothing and is awful. #coys #thfc
