Tottenham have established a proud tradition of churning out some of the best young English talent that the country has to offer in recent years and with the second half of the season in full swing fans will be looking at who could be next to make the step up.

From midfield pair Harry Winks and Oliver Skipp to full back Kyle Walker-Peters, Spurs have got some exciting future prospects on their books and it means that game time for the next generation is going to be tougher to come by as the season’s progress.

As a result more and more Tottenham prospects have been finding themselves sent out on loan to try and improve their game and develop in a manner which will have them ready for the first team on their return.

One man who has followed such a path has been Josh Onomah, the 21-year-old sent to both Aston Villa and Sheffield Wednesday to try and get him to the next level – but injury problems have plagued him at the Owls.

With just 12 Championship appearances under his belt it has been a tough campaign for the youngster and it could be about to get even tougher with Football.London claiming that he could be sold this summer – or sent out on loan once again – if he fails to impress.

After two seasons away from north London it seems unlikely Onomah is going to go out temporarily once again, meaning that it is make or break time for the midfield talent and with so many options already operating in the middle of the park, it is not going to be easy.

Quite frankly it seems as though Onomah might have around six months to save himself  at Tottenham- the rest of the season and a month or two in Spurs’ pre-season before making a decision in late July to early August.

He seems highly rated by Mauricio Pochettino – the report stating that the manager even considered bringing him back in January – but he has not done enough to prove himself just yet.
