Harry Kane could be in line to make a comeback in Tottenham’s Champions League clash with Borussia Dortmund – month earlier than expected – according to talkSPORT.

The England captain damaged ligaments in his ankle in the 1-0 defeat to Manchester United at Wembley on January 13th, as reported by the Guardian.

It was initially expected that Kane would be ruled out until March with the complaint, but it is now understood that the talismanic forward could be in line for a return as early February 13th when Spurs face the Bundesliga leaders.

What a boost this would be for Spurs. There’s no such thing as a one man team, and Mauricio Pochettino’s side have still managed to stay in the title race without their captain, but having him back will make a world of difference. Facing Dortmund will be an immense task as it is, but not having their star man available for the class would have put Spurs at a distinct disadvantage. The only real worry will be that the club will be tempted to rush  Kane back from his absence, given how important he is to their chances of success. The risk they then run is allowing him to feature before he is 100% ready to, and that could lead to real issues further down the line. The fact that Kane keeps on aggravating the same ligaments would suggest that he has a natural weakness in that part of his body, and certainly the last thing he will need is for that to be exacerbated by the overzealousness of those in charge of his recovery.
