Former Tottenham Hotspur man Graham Roberts has praised “top class” Spurs stars Moussa Sissoko, Harry Winks and Hugo Lloris for their performances against Leicester City on Sunday.

All three players played their part as Mauricio Pochettino’s team eased to a 3-1 win over a battling Foxes side. Lloris in particular shone with a fine display of goalkeeping.

Roberts was seriously impressed: “Huge win with more players out, after Dortmund a nice 10 days break – the boys doing us so proud,” he wrote on his personal Twitter account.

“Moussa Sissoko and Harry Winks top class today and of course Hugo. 9 points from 3 home games – job done. I thought Leicester were excellent today to be fair, as well. COYS.”

OPINION

Roberts is spot on here, all three players were terrific in a good Spurs win. Leicester played well, as Roberts said, and so Tottenham had to work hard to take home the three points. This is the reason they’re still in the Premier League title race, they continue to dig in and get results even when things are going against them. Lloris was absolutely superb on Sunday. He dealt with everything that came his way with complete ease, and did brilliantly to save Jamie Vardy’s penalty. That was a big moment in the game and it was the World Cup winner who came out on top. Sissoko and Winks were immense in midfield, with the Englishman particularly impressing. He seems to have taken his game to another level this season, which is a worrying thought for the rest of the top flight. Sissoko, as we all know, has saved his Tottenham career with a remarkable revival this term, and that continued on Sunday.
