OPINION
Manchester United midfielder Nemanja Matic certainly started strongly in the first half of his team’s Champions League round of 16 clash with Paris Saint-Germain on Tuesday night. He was clearly up for this one, striding around midfielder, putting the PSG players under pressure and winning possession back for his side. The Serbian international is a joy to watch when on top form, a prototypical defensive midfielder who can make his whole team tick. Several times in the first five or ten minutes he nicked the ball off a PSG man and set an attack in motion for United. He is one of a number of Red Devils players who look reborn under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and that continued in the opening half on Tuesday. If he can continue this sort of form for the rest of the season then United look well placed to secure a favourable result against the French heavyweights as well as continuing their climb up the Premier League table.
