OPINION
Man United carried on their brilliant run under Ole Gunnar Solksjaer and fans were in awe after a MotM performance from a player who has been ‘transformed’ under the new manager, Ander Herrera.
Herrera scored the first goal last night and put in a fantastic shift across the pitch. And he impressed United fans just as much after the game when he took time out to provide motivation to the struggling Alexis Sanchez, after an impressive cameo from the much-maligned player.
Herrera has been getting a good run in the United side since Solskjaer took after being used from the bench under previous manager Jose Mourinho.
And United fans point to it as even more evidence of the positive effect that the new manager is having on the side.
The loss in the Champions League to PSG dented Solskjaer’s record but he’s flawless domestically and he not only seems to know how to get the best out of his players, but who his best XI is as well.
And, at the moment, Herrera is a big part of that.
Here are the best reactions to Herrera’s display against Chelsea:
Just watching all the highlights and post-match clips of Ole and Herrera and I’m in tears. Didn’t expect us to come away with a win like this, and the performances from everyone makes it better. Ole has to be the manager next season, he has transformed this team so much. #MUFC

A lot of players exhibit fake passion, Herrera does it and you see it's second nature. He's become the new @Evra, a complete foreigner who did not say he is a boyhood fan. He came, fell in love with the club and is treating @ManUtd like the most important thing in his life. #mufc

Herrera is a coach in the making. Second half noted not good enough on the ball, praised the substitutes for their work rate and didn't get carried away #MUFC

Pogba is on form but my favourite outfield player right now has to be Herrera, can clearly see why he won POTY the other year, wonder what Mou didn't see in him to put Fellaini 1st……#MUFC

Herrera has never been so dangerous in midfield. Pogba is having the best season of his career. Rashford has been brilliant. I couldn’t be any happier with the present state of Manchester United. #mufc

Special Appreciation Tweet:
The most underrated midfielder in the world of football imo:
Ander Herrera!
Silent baller….works so hard with passion every single game he plays.
It's even been more intense after Ole's arrival. #MUFC

It's time to give Herrera the armband. Without doubt the epitome of a leader in this #MUFC side. I would've expected him to leave if JM stayed. I know which one I'm happier keeping.

If herrera isn’t the next @ManUtd captain then there’s something wrong he’s always been solid under any manager his determination and respect and love for the club is why he’s showing why he deserves the captaincy, a true united player #MUFC
