OPINION
Liverpool were held to a 0-0 draw with Bayern Munich in a big surprise at Anfield. It was always going to be a tough game but almost everyone had predicted goals.
They didn’t come in the end and Liverpool were guilty of wasting some great chances that they would have put away on other days.
Jurgen Klopp’s last throw of the dice was to bring on Divock Origi for Roberto Firmino in the 76th minute, but the Belgian couldn’t conjure anything up and some Liverpool fans couldn’t understand why Xherdan Shaqiri, or Daniel Sturridge, didn’t come on instead.
He’s normally the man Klopp turns to when Liverpool need a goal and he was waiting on the bench. He’s scored six goals this season to Origi’s three and he would surely have posed a bigger threat to the Bayern defence.
Other Liverpool fans pointed out that the players don’t seem to trust Origi, with Sadio Mané not passing to him when he had a clear run at goal.
The tie is delicately poised now, with Liverpool looking for that vital away goal in the second leg in Germany.
Meanwhile, here are the best reactions to Origi’s cameo display at Anfield:
Stated it last night and my opinion is unmoved…firmino did well to get through 70mins with having been suffering with a virus but when Origi came on it felt like we were down to 10 men and had nothing up top…god loves a tryer and the boy certainly is that but way off standard

This guy may have helped put a finger on what I feel about Divock origi for a while. So sad. pic.twitter.com/5TVk5E58jm

I can understand if he doesnt trust Origi – who was in a great position – but not even attempting to give the ball to Salah – who was even in a better position – was poor?
92nd minute too. Could’ve ended the game with a goal https://t.co/4tEnNeYbci

I noticed this, obviously doesn’t trust Origi in the slightest

Why Origi????? Even Mane doesn't trust him.

It’s as if they don’t trust Origi. Made the run there. #LFC

Why is Origi now preferred to Sturridge? Studge got more ability in his arms than Origi has in his whole body.

Not a bad result. How is origi ahead of Sturridge in the pecking order now?

Good game but wasteful chances. Should have bring Shaq instead of origi.

Agree, why'd he bring on origi instead of shaq?

Origi is literally the most useless player Liverpool have had since Markovic

Pleased with the clean sheet, Henderson, Fabinho and Keita were great. Bringing Origi on like playing with 10…..but we knew that anyway!
