Liverpool central midfielder Allan Rodrigues de Souza has agreed a loan move to Brazilian club Fluminese, it has been confirmed.

Allan joined Liverpool in the summer of 2015 but has barely been seen at his parent club due to struggles in securing a work permit. Talented enough to accumulate six Brazil Under-20 caps, the midfielder has now had two spells on loan Germany (Hertha Berlin and Frankfurt) and one apiece in France (Sint-Truiden), Cyprus (Limassol) and now Brazil (Fluminese). None have been sufficiently successful for him to make the progress he needed to play in England and join the Liverpool set-up. That must be a huge frustration for the youngster, although it is perhaps telling that he only made four appearances at Frankfurt in the first half of the season. Were he deemed ready, he would have surely been used more frequently during his various loan spells. There must now be serious question marks as to whether Allan will ever make it at Liverpool. Four years and no sign of a breakthrough says a lot.
