Serie A giants AC Milan are in the hunt for Everton winger Ademola Lookman next summer, according to Calcio Mercato.

The Italian outlet reports on their website that the Italian outfit are targeting the 21-year-old in the next transfer window after being priced out of a move for Watford ace Gerard Deulofeu last month.

The report adds that AC Milan will monitor the progress of Lookman – who has made 16 appearances in all competitions this term, scoring one goal in the process – over the course of the current season.

Good move for Everton?

Lookman is certainly a star for the future, so it would not be a good move to sell by Everton. The £23,000-a-week [Spotrac] player has performed well for them this season so far, and it would be a waste to offload him to Italy after contributing so well. Not only that, he is a very talented player who can make a real impact on results, so letting him leave for AC Milan is the worst move they could make.

Likely to happen?

Seeing as they have identified him as a target for the summer, the likelihood of Lookman leaving then remain very slim. Who knows whether AC Milan would have changed their minds when it comes to that point? That is a long time away, and anything can happen between now and then. For now, Lookman remains an Everton player, and the chances of him leaving are very low indeed. Fans should take this one with a pinch of salt, especially with it being only a day after the deadline.
