OPINION
Chelsea winger Eden Hazard certainly looked up for Monday’s FA Cup clash with Manchester United judging from his first half performance. The Belgian international looked bright from the word go, linking up well with his team mates and drawing numerous fouls from the visitors at Stamford Bridge. He’s not always been at his best this season, indeed his inconsistency is maddening considering his talent, but he certainly seemed like he was in the mood on Monday night. If he could just do this on a weekly basis then perhaps there wouldn’t be so much scrutiny surrounding manager Maurizio Sarri at the moment. Despite the additions of Jorginho and Gonzalo Higuain in the past two transfer windows, Hazard remains the most important player at the football club, and that was demonstrated in the first half here. Whether he can increase his performance levels further in order to influence the game more after the break remains to be seen, but he certainly looked lively in the opening period.
