OPINION
Some Leeds United fans seem to be refusing to let this Daniel James saga die, with a few of them now suggesting that Swansea will struggle to offer the winger a decent deal. Swans boss Graham Potter has now confirmed that talks have been held with James, and a couple of his team-mates, about a new deal. Leeds are bound to go in for the Wales international once more in the summer after the swoop to sign him in January failed in spectacular and farcical fashion. He enters the last year of his contract in the summer and that could make it easier for Leeds to sign him, so it seems that Swansea might be trying to hinder the Yorkshire club’s efforts once again. Potter said, as quoted by WalesOnline: “I personally touched on that yesterday with Leroy [Fer]. The club are speaking with Mike [van der Hoorn] as well and chatted with Dan.” He added: “There’s a bigger picture as well but for me we’ve started those conversations.” Will James agree to sign a new contract? It seems unlikely. If he wanted to join Leeds in January to be messed around and left disappointed on deadline day, then why would he pen a new deal and why would he care about his transfer value? The Swans seem desperate, and that could play into Marcelo Bielsa’s hands come the summer.

Having seen what @KieranMaguire had to say about Swansea's finances I can only imagine they are being offered magic beans in the way of wages
