Kortney Hause is yet to impress for Aston Villa since joining the club from Wolves in the January transfer window.

The 23-year-old, who is currently on loan from Molineux, has made three Championship appearances for Villa, and all three of those games have been lost with the Villans conceding six goals in the process.

The former England Under-21 international has been played at left-back lately and has done absolutely nothing to prove that he would be a good permanent addition in the summer at Villa Park with a series of disappointing performances.

What makes things worse is that it seemed at the time as though Dean Smith had a choice between signing Hause or signing Tyias Browning from Everton, with Sky Sports reporting that once a deal was close for Hause, interest would fade on Browning.

Browning, 24, is not a terrible player but is someone who just seems to have been stuck in the Under-23s at Goodison Park for too long before enduring a season of hell while on loan at Sunderland last term.

Either way, he would have surely been a better addition than Hause.

Villa will surely be regretting their decision now, but it seems like it is an irreversible one as it was confirmed on Wednesday that Browning has joined super-rich Chinese Super League club Guangzhou Evergrande.

The Toffees announced via their official Twitter account that the ex-Sunderland loanee has joined the Far East club for an undisclosed fee.

Guangzhou Evergrande have been splashing the cash in the last few years, signing players like Jackson Martinez, Paulinho, Talisca and Ricardo Goulart, who reportedly earns £110,000-a-week despite being anything but a household name.

Browning has now joined a long list of players who have been earning huge sums of money and moving from club to club for major transfer fees.

Maybe Aston Villa should have jumped in for the 24-year-old before that happened.
