COMMENTARY
To say that Leeds United fans are a little excited about the departure of Shaun Harvey as the CEO of the Football League is something of an understatement. As confirmed on the EFL’s official website the senior figure will be departing his role at the end of the season and the supporters’ reactions demonstrate just how much disdain the Elland Road faithful hold for him. It appears as though there is plenty of bad blood towards Harvey after his time on the board during what was nearly a decade at the club and there were questions asked over his impartiality in such a senior role for the EFL after his stint with Leeds. Truth be told, the Leeds fans will be hoping they are not part of the EFL next season, with their sights firmly set on the Premier League, but at least if they do fail in their bid for promotion they will not have to deal with Harvey. Of course, the fans and the team themselves would prefer to be among England’s elite – but at least this has given them some joy regardless of what happens come the end of the season.
