OPINION
Rangers are in meltdown – again. That’s the view of some Celtic fans after the Gers’ managing director Stewart Robertson hit out at the BBC and the Scottish FA’s disciplinary system on Monday, as quoted by the club’s official website. It is funny that Robertson has only decided to speak out about these issues now. Celtic pulled eight points clear on Sunday after deserved bans were handed to Alfredo Morelos and Allan McGregor for their antics against Aberdeen earlier this month. They were correct decisions by the Scottish FA and the fact that the BBC have talked so much about players like Morelos this season is because of how much attention he gets. Imagine telling the biggest broadcaster in the country to not talk as much about the biggest issues in Scottish football because it upsets Rangers’ hierarchy and their fans. What a load of rubbish. There is no way that the BBC have swayed the Scottish FA’s decision-making process and to suggest it is pure paranoia. No wonder Celtic fans believe that “panic has set in” at Ibrox – they are spot on.
