OPINION
Leeds are putting their fans through the wringer this afternoon at Elland Road.
The home side scored first after being awarded a rare spot-kick at Elland Road. Patrick Bamford sent the keeper the wrong way after Tyler Roberts had attempted to get the ball off him. It took Luke Ayling to lead Roberts away and Leeds fans will be glad he did after Bamford scored cooly.
They couldn’t hold onto the lead though and conceded an equaliser from Mark Beevers after 23 minutes.
It could have been much worse though if it wasn’t for an unbelievable save from new keeper Kiko Casilla early on – and Leeds fans flocked onto Twitter to hail their new hero.
Casilla arrived from Real Madrid in January and he’s looked a real class act ever since he took over from Bailey Peacock-Farrell between the sticks. They say a good keeper is worth ten or so points a season and Casilla has already started showing his new club his worth.
Bolton’s Josh Magennis found himself about six yards out after four minutes and seemingly certain to score. Casilla pulled out a stop that has meant Leeds find themselves all square with 45 minutes to go in a game they simply have to win.
Here are the best reactions to Casilla after the first 45 minutes:
Anything we get from this is thanks to Kiko. Astonishing save. #lufc
