Rangers fans react to Celtic signing Burke

OPINION

Both Rangers and Celtic are making early movements in the January transfer window. Rangers are looking likely to snap up Bournemouth striker Jermain Defoe on loan, Southampton star Steven Davis, and also Jordan Jones and Glen Kamara on pre-contract summer frees. These are all huge moves for Steven Gerrard to be making so early in the window, and that really shows his intent to keep things moving at Ibrox. Across Glasgow the Hoops have just made their first signing of the month in West Bromwich Albion winger Oliver Burke, who joins on loan. The Scotland international has struggled for minutes at the Hawthorns this season, and will provide reinforcements for a floundering Celtic attack. While many Celtic fans seems happy with the move, Rangers fans clearly take a different view, with many mocking their rivals for signing a player who has been deemed not wanted by a Championship club. Considering the animosity between the two clubs this kind of reaction is to be expected, and Burke will hope he can prove these Rangers fans wrong with a title-winning stint at Parkhead in the coming months.
