What a time to be a Rangers fan following nearly a decade of misery in the green-and-white shadow of Celtic. A week after securing the landmark win over their bitter rivals that lifted them level on points at the top of the table, the Light Blues are working intently on a remarkable quadruple signing blitz. As reported by Glasgow Evening Times correspondent Chris Jack, the club have agreed deals for striker Jermain Defoe and midfielder Steven Davis. Furthermore, winger Jordan Jones and midfield anchorman Glen Kamara are set to have medicals before signing pre-contracts.

Many Bears would have been happy enough for their club to land Davis and Defoe, with the latter the most exciting SPL recruit in a decade. To follow up with two more signings is a stunning statement of intent, with one fan pointing out how talk of “dysfunctional” Rangers could not be further from the truth of the club’s current situation as chairman Dave King and the board demonstrate genuine ambition.

Remember not so long ago when @TEnglishSport and his @BBCSportsound pals were deriding the “dysfunctional” Rangers Board because they took their time to appoint Mark Allen as Director of Football ? 4 days into the transfer window and 4 signings almost complete. Thanks Mr King ?
