As if Rangers fans hadn’t had enough brilliant news over the last few weeks, more has come in the last 24 hours after the club released images on their official Twitter account of Jamie Murphy stepping up his comeback bid. The winger was expected to miss the entire season after undergoing knee surgery in August, but he is firmly on the comeback trail as images from the Tenerife training camp showed him being put through his paces by physio Steve Walker.

Signed from Brighton in the summer window after impressing on loan in the second half of last season, the wide man has the technical ability and creativity to make a big impact in the second half of the season. A quick glance at his Rangers stats – his 27 appearances for the club have yielded six goals and 13 assists – are proof of how he can provide the bullets for Jermain Defoe and Alfredo Morelos once he is fit and firing. Little wonder Bears are drilling at him closing in on a return.

Brilliant to see him running again. Been a huge miss this season. Especially his versatility to play wide or 10.
