A Tottenham transfer summit was held today (Thursday) as senior club officials met to discuss potential January signings, according to Football London.

The Reach site claim manager Mauricio Pochettino and chairman Daniel Levy were present along with the other two members of the club’s transfer committee, chief scout Steve Hitchen and academy chief John McDermott.

Football London report one player who was top of the agenda was Hull City’s in-form winger Jarrod Bowen, as the club chiefs made up their minds on whether to pursue him this month.

Finally, something for Spurs fans to get mildly excited about in terms of potential incoming transfers. On the day that Moussa Dembele was sold for £11million, the club are weighing up whether to bring in new blood following a fallow summer window. The Tottenham faithful have learned not to get too excited about transfer business from the net spend kings in recent years. Mauricio Pochettino’s transformation of the team has been underpinned by nurturing young stars rather than buying established ones. It therefore makes a degree of sense that 22-year-old Bowen is a topic of discussion among the Spurs brain trust. The right winger has torn Championship defences to shreds in recent months, with his last nine league games yielding a Harry Kane-esque eight goals. Tottenham fans will be disappointed if there is not a concerted effort to strengthen the first-team squad this month, especially after the loss of Dembele and the Kane injury that will sideline him for two months.
