Tottenham are working on three late-window transfers in and out of the club, according to the Daily Telegraph.

The newspaper claim the north Londoners are using the final three days of January before the Thursday-night deadline to try and sign a midfielder as their main priority ahead of a forward.

The Telegraph report Spurs are also trying to find buyers for fringe winger Georges-Kevin NKoudou and frozen-out striker Vincent Janssen.

OPINION

Spurs fans are desperate for their club to recruit a blue-chip midfielder before the 31 January deadline, especially as events of the last weekend have clearly demonstrated they are sorely lacking in the key area in the middle of the pitch. Moussa Sissoko and Harry Winks, the favoured partnership of the pre-and-post festive period, were paired in the League Cup defeat to Chelsea, and Eric Dier and Oliver Skipp were in tandem for Sunday’s FA Cup loss at Crystal Palace. The four all have their attributes, but none are of the A-list quality the club are crying out for now Mousa Dembele has moved to China. However, there is a sense that the horse has already bolted for Tottenham. They are out of the domestic cups and probably have enough quality and experience in their squad to secure another top-four finish that Mauricio Pochettino puts so much store in. Most of the midfield signings who could immediately improve the team, such as Adrien Rabiot and Tanguy Ndombele are cup tied in the Champions League and would be unable to figure in the last-16 clash.
