West Brom are to pounce on a deal for PAOK Salonika and Egypt international winger Amr Warda after conducting a long term scouting mission over the 25-year-old, according to Sportime.

The Greek news outlet claim that the Baggies have been tracking the 24-cap forward for some time and are readying a move to take him to the Hawthorns, with the left winger having a contract clause of £2.7million (€3million) in his contract.

It is stated that Warda had been at odds with the management at PAOK but things had been resolved and that he is once again a regular for the Greek outfit.

Good move for West Brom?

Darren Moore has tended not to use wingers in a traditional sense this season, usually using the likes of Matt Phillips and Kieran Gibbs as wing backs or Jay Rodriguez and Harvey Barnes as narrow forwards in a front three.

The arrival of Warda would help give the manager an option to make use of the flanks more and give him a more natural option to boost their attack out wide, but is he going to get the game time he might be looking for?

Furthermore, is his form – with one goal and one assist in 21 appearances, five of those coming in the Europa League – really worth West Brom splashing out on his signing, regardless of how cheap he might be?

Too many questions and doubts make this one a questionable signing for the Baggies.

Likely to happen?

If West Brom have been watching him for a long time and are willing to seal a deal, then all it takes is the triggering of that release clause.

The report does say there is no guarantee this move will go through but if West Brom want him, they will likely get their man with ease.
