Leeds United are set to seal the signing of Real Madrid goalkeeper Kiko Casilla with a medical scheduled for next week, according to the Yorkshire Evening Post.

The report states that the shot stopper is set to jet into England early next week to undergo the final stages of his move and that the 32-year-old, who is set to see his contract at the Bernabeu come to an end in the summer of 2020, should be signed up for the clash against Stoke City next weekend.

It is stated a new goalkeeper has been a priority for Leeds this month after losing Jamal Blackman to injury and having chased Newcastle’s Karl Darlow only to be told he was not for sale, they moved to negotiate for Casilla.

Good move for Leeds?

Watch out Bailey Peacock-Farrell, for your time in the starting XI could well be at an end after your performance against Derby County.

Casilla is a man full of experience and that is exactly what Leeds need going into a crucial second half of the season, with promotion and title hopes on the line.

This goes to show the sort of ambition the Whites have under Marcelo Bielsa and this could well be the missing piece of the puzzle.

What a move this will be.

Likely to happen?

It sounds as though everything is already sorted and that he will be at Elland Road early next week, barring any sort of hitches to the move.

The Leeds fans might want to hold off getting his name on the back of their shirts just yet – transfer deals can fall through at the last minute – but they should have the order in their online basket for when he does sign.
