COMMENTARY
With plenty of attention focused on potential incomings at Aston Villa not many saw James Bree heading out but, as confirmed on the club’s official Twitter account, the right back has made a surprise switch to Championship rivals Ipswich Town. Understandably many of the Villa faithful have been left completely and utterly flummoxed by the decision, the young talent having been an impressive option in the first team of late. In fact before he was binned from the senior side completely for the last two Championship outings he had started the previous five league games and so to get rid of him to another team in the same division just defies logic. Surely he would have been better off acting as backup to the likes of Alan Hutton until the end of the season instead of being pushed out the door by Dean Smith. One or two injuries could leave Villa in the lurch and they would regret not having Bree to call upon in such a situation. Still, the deal has been done and he is on his way to the eastern side but it does not mean that the Villa supporters have to be happy about it.

Bit of an odd one. ????? Hopefully another RB incoming as he’d be my starter. Not overly confident with Hutton/Elmo there. Good luck @Jamesbree_97
