Was Jaden Brown ever going to make it at Tottenham? It’s unlikely. Spurs have good options at left-back in the first team, so the chances of the 19-year-old getting a game over Danny Rose, Ben Davies and Kyle Walker-Peters was always going to be low. Some Tottenham fans are not happy that Brown has been offloaded to Huddersfield, with an agreement being confirmed on Tuesday, however they really shouldn’t be. Young players need to do more to ensure that they are playing regular football and Tottenham is a hard place for promising teenagers to make an impact at the moment, just because there are so many of them. Brown was probably the club’s best young left-back, but he is going to turn 20 later this month and he’s never made a senior appearance in his career. At Huddersfield he is much more likely to get a game, so fair play for him for putting his career before anything else. Unfortunately some of these Tottenham fans can’t see that, calling the club “pathetic” for letting him go when they didn’t seem to have much choice.
