OPINION
It makes a lot of sense for Mauricio Pochettino to keep hold of Fernando Llorente after Harry Kane’s injury blow. Tottenham only have three natural centre-forwards and one of them, Vincent Janssen, is completely out of the picture, so what’s the harm in keeping hold of Llorente until the summer? The Telegraph reports that the Spanish striker is set to stay in North London as Kane could be out of action for the next four weeks with an ankle injury he sustained in the 1-0 defeat to Manchester United on Sunday. Athletic Bilbao were reportedly keen on re-signing Llorente, but it looks as though he is now going to stay put at Tottenham. Some fans are struggling to get their heads around this, but it makes perfect sense. Janssen may be young and yes, he may deserve another chances, but he isn’t going to get it. Llorente is second-choice striker and Heung-min Son will jet off for the Asian Cup soon. It may be ‘short-termism’ by Pochettino, but selling Llorente and signing someone else just doesn’t seem like a good idea, especially as prices are inflated in January.

This feels very ‘un Poch’. He doesn’t tend to make decisions based on short termism.

I don’t believe this, Daniel Levy will make sure he leaves for a fee!
