OPINION
Yaya Toure may be 35-years-old, but there’s no denying that he would be a marquee signing for Celtic if they are able to agree a deal with the former Manchester City midfielder this month. According to Greek news outlet Gazzetta, the Bhoys made an offer to sign Toure a couple of weeks ago after the Ivorian had his deal at Olympiakos terminated early. Toure is still without a club, but although his spell in Greece was hardly a period of his career to remember, he would be a top addition for Brendan Rodgers. Celtic’s midfield has really struggled this season. There has been countless injuries and players like Olivier Ntcham and Scott Brown have fallen well short of their usual form. Toure has the ability to turn games on their head. Rodgers cannot turn down the chance to sign a potential game-changer. Rangers have made two big signings this month, having snapped up players in their 30s. Toure is better than what they have at Ibrox, and he could be better than some of the players Rodgers has at Celtic Park.
