OPINION
Kieran Trippier cannot avoid the constant criticism that is aimed towards him at the moment, but you can really see where some Tottenham fans are coming from after yet another woeful display by the right-back in Spurs’ 2-1 win against Fulham on Sunday. Many would have thought that Mauricio Pochettino’s switch to a back-three would have meant that Trippier would improve, but even him changing to a more advanced wing-back role failed to help the ex-Burnley ace. Something is seriously wrong with Trippier at the moment. He was England’s best player at the World Cup in the summer, but since returning to North London, we haven’t seen anything to suggest he’s improved from then. It is very worrying and Pochettino should consider playing Kyle Walker-Peters for upcoming fixtures. Trippier has been a mainstay this season, earning 22 appearances in all competitions. He surely can’t earn many more if he stays like this.
