Rangers are in talks with Dundee about signing Glen Kamara this month and two of their players have been mooted to head the other way, according to the Scottish Sun.

The newspaper claim the Light Blues hope to agree a swap deal or a fee for the midfield enforcer by the end of this month, with Ross McCrorie and Ryan Hardie among the Gers stars the Den’s Park club are eager to take for the rest of the season.

The Sun report Kamara could have played his last game for Dundee as he will be omitted against Queen of the South for their Scottish Cup fourth round tie on Tayside while his future is up in the air.

OPINION

There is a strong sense that Finland international Kamara will not wear a Dundee jersey again. A pre-contract was agreed with Rangers a fortnight ago ahead of a summer move, but that has subsequently been brought forward. It appears that the Den’s Park side are pushing for a deal to be done for the ball-winning midfielder to head to Ibrox immediately. Whether that is because they have sensed a drop in motivation from the player in winter training, attitude problems or an urgent need for the cash that his immediate sale will realise is difficult to know from the outside. Dundee have hinted that it makes more sense for Kamara to go now, although quite why they hadn’t decided that two or three weeks ago is something of a mystery. It will certainly benefit Rangers to get the deal done immediately, as Kamara will add energy and quality in their central midfield and can have a big role to play in the second half of the season.
