Rangers duo Robby McCrorie and Andrew Dallas could join Morton on loan in the next 24 hours, according to the Scottish Sun.

The newspaper claim goalkeeper McCrorie, 20, and forward Dallas, 19, are wanted by ex-Rangers coach and striker Jonatan Johansson, who is the manager of the Scottish Championship club, in a double swoop.

The Scottish Sun report that Johansson “hopes to have the pair on board before Saturday’s home meeting with the Pars” as Morton prepare to face Dunfermline at home.

OPINION

Johansson is hoping to take advantage of his Rangers contacts and strong relationship with his former club to seal a double swoop that could make a massive difference in Morton’s promotion bid. The sixth-placed outfit are 11 points adrift of leaders Ross County, but could make a late charge if they manage to land McCrorie and Dallas before their fixture on Saturday. Both are highly thought of at Ibrox. McCrorie is a Scotland Under-21 international who has the potential to be the Rangers number one in the future. He cut his teeth during an impressive loan spell at League Two outfit Berwick last season and would benefit from another spell of senior football at what would be an even more challenging level. As for Dallas, who signed a new Rangers contract on Thursday, he is not in the frame for a first-team spot at Ibrox and is best off heading to Morton. He showed while on loan at Stenhousemuir in League Two last season, scoring three goals in nine appearances, that he has a huge amount to offer at senior level.
