Liverpool midfielder Ovie Ejaria is set to undergo a medical at Reading today ahead of a six-month loan move, according to the Sun.

The newspaper claim the 21-year-old is heading to the Championship outfit after Jurgen Klopp gave the green light to his second loan of the campaign.

The Sun report Ejaria is in line to make his Reading debut in their league clash against Nottingham Forest on Saturday.

Good move for Liverpool?

It makes sense for Ejaria to go out on loan again, after his spell at Rangers was terminated at short notice before Christmas. The former Arsenal academy product had been a regular in Steven Gerrard’s side, making 28 appearances in all competitions, most of which were starts. But the Liverpool icon claimed the midfielder had grown unsettled and he is now set for his third loan move in a year. There must be some doubts about Ejaria’s maturity and mentality, and Liverpool should benefit if his flaws are ironed out in the Championship in the second half of the campaign. That said, they would surely have preferred for the rising star to have remained at Ibrox, where he was playing regularly and doing as well as anyone could have expected.

Likely to happen?

Given the report is written by a reliable journalist who is well connected, it appears to be only a matter of time before Ejaria is confirmed as a Reading player. This seems to be a done deal.
