Dave King has said he, along with everyone else at Ibrox, is “delighted” with the new signings Rangers have made.

The Rangers chairman was quoted by Sky Sports transfer supremo Jim White on his personal Twitter account on Monday morning.

He added, “We have not only brought in 2 top quality, internationally experienced players, we’ve secured 2 of our summer targets early”.

OPINION

It’s not always possible to get your big business done early but Rangers have absolutely smashed this transfer window already. Steven Davis and Jermain Defoe have joined on loan deals and they will add serious quality to the club immediately. Glen Kamara and Jordan Jones have signed pre-contract deals and will join Ibrox in the summer. It’s a huge boost to Rangers, who are currently in Tenerife at their winter training camp. King must be delighted at not only the winter business but how things have progressed since Steven Gerrard took over as manager. He’s had a few speed bumps to contend with – some disappointing domestic results, getting knocked out of the cup semi-final by Aberdeen and not progressing in the Europa League – but his side ended the year on a high, beating Celtic at Ibrox. And Davis and Defoe will make the side much, much stronger in the second-half of the Premiership. That’s got to concern Celtic.
